MRP Introduces New Customized Lift Damper – Mountain Bike Press Release

Most mountain bike tours are good. With a good ride there are no falls, you reach the typical lines and are happy that you got out.

However, on a great ride you find the courage to tackle a feature that previously intimidated you. Maybe you’ll set a PR on a loop you’ve ridden often or get that KOM you’ve been chasing. You end the ride full of energy and are excited to set off again.

At MRP we believe that using the best performing parts will significantly increase your confidence – allowing you to expand your comfort zone, push your limits and turn good rides into great rides. Making this difference was the driving force behind the development of our exciting new Lift Damper.

Lift is included in our new Ribbon LT and Ribbon LT Coil forks and is offered as an upgrade damper for many Fox and RockShox forks. It represents the culmination of several years of laboratory and field testing designed to deliver this key ingredient for great rides – Trust.

Trust in the facility

Five tunes are offered for the lift, suitable for rider weights from 110 to 270 pounds. Weight-specific shim stacks provide the rider with perfectly tuned damping and full use of the external rebound and compression adjustment ranges. Each of the twelve clicks provides a consistent jump in damping, and there are indistinguishable open and uselessly restrictive positions. Stop getting stuck in the endless loop of adding a click of attenuation only to take it away later because it’s too much. With Lift you can dial in quickly and precisely.

Confidence in performance

The valves in the Lift Damper have been designed to provide a seamless transition from low to high speed tracks, providing a predictable and responsive ride that adapts to the terrain. Flow path optimization and advanced needle shaping minimize fluid turbulence, resulting in quiet operation and superior sensitivity. With our coil-assisted, low-friction Chocoluxe IFP, premium smoothness sets new standards. But all of these technologies have no meaning if system friction has a large overlap with damping. That’s why we worked with industry leader IGUS to incorporate their latest flange bearing material into our seal head and use PTFE in our piston to virtually eliminate friction. Lift ensures extremely even cushioning, so you can comfortably push yourself to your limits.

Confidence in longevity

Lift is designed for everyday drivers who literally RIDE EVERY DAY. Through strictly controlled production and assembly, we were able to shorten the elevator’s maintenance interval to a whopping 200 hours. Elevator internals are manufactured in-house, many on our precision CNC Swiss screw machine. No special tools or equipment are required for maintenance, and the lift’s cassette format allows for clean and easy removal and reinstallation. Whether included in an MRP fork or purchased as an upgrade, each lift shock is bench tested as a quality control step to ensure perfect performance. The lift is designed to give you many years of great rides.

The Lift Damper Upgrade Kits are available for most 35, 36 and 38mm Fox and RockShox fork models, as well as previous MRP Ribbon and Raven forks. They are easy to install and provide an immediate performance increase for forks with simple dampers, as well as for light and heavy riders unable to adequately tune their current forks, or riders who simply want to upgrade their forks from good to great.

MRP fork updates

The Lift Damper is one of several updates to the new Ribbon LT and LT Coil forks.

The Ribbon LT is the tool for every task. Available with 140 to 170 mm travel. Call it a long-travel trail, all-mountain or enduro fork because it’s ready to ride whatever you want.

The Ribbon LT Coil is designed for riders who want to forego the “coil-like” performance and just get the real thing. With a buttery-soft suspension travel of 150 to 170 mm, the Ribbon LT Coil overcomes every trail obstacle but leaves you wanting more.

The all-new FullFill 2 air spring in the Ribbon LT is the most adjustable air spring on the market. FullFill 2 not only offers you the ability to independently adjust the positive and negative air pressure, but also has an adjustable negative chamber volume. This addition, combined with Ramp Control technology, allows complete control over the shape of the spring curve.

Both Ribbon LT models feature our new ACV (Automatic Casting Vent) system to relieve excess pressure in the lower casting, so your spring rate and overall ride feel are never compromised – without the need to operate a bleeder valve.

Across our MTB range, forks feature new premium metallic graphics from Ground Keeper Customs, the leading custom decal provider.

Custom made as standard

For the ultimate customization, we offer our ShredKOTE custom paint program with 19 color options. Additionally, riders can have their forks delivered “Ready to Shred” with factory preset damper and spring settings, steerer tube cut to desired length, clevis and star nut installed, and all necessary brake adapters.

The 2024 suspension range is now available at MRPbike.com. For more product details, compatibility information and further insights into MRP technologies, please visit our newly updated website.

Make your next ride a GREAT ride.
