Late last year, Yeti announced the launch of a direct method of purchasing all bikes in their range, and the SB165 is the first bike I’ve received from them since the announcement. As expected, the assembly effort is minimal; only the front wheel and the handlebars need to be assembled. Yeti supplies the bike with a shock pump as well as a small torque wrench and bits to ensure assembly and setup go as smoothly as possible.

INFINITY SWITCH RECALCULATED

Discover the next generation of translational pivot suspension designs. Set new expectations for kinematics, durability, sensitivity and strength. All new T-Series builds will feature our new Switch Infinity system with improved seals, bearings and hardware.

SPEED METAL

Our new pivot designs utilize 100% standard size cartridge bearings secured with precision machined floating collet axles. All bearings are pressed into the linkage assembly opposite the swingarm or front triangle. Our new floating collet tang design uses standard size precision bearings and machined floating collet axes, increasing durability. The end result is perfect alignment and smooth suspension movement every time.

PATENTED COMPACT WISHBONE AND NEW ULTRA COMPACT LINK

Our patented two-piece control arm shock extension is used on the SB140 and SB160 and provides optimal clamping, shock compatibility and easy shock removal in longer travel applications. An all-new, ultra-compact, minimalist, one-piece shock extender was designed specifically to meet the shorter travel needs of the SB120. Both types of shock absorber extension achieve the same goals: optimization of the leverage ratio while simultaneously moving the shock absorber forward in the frame. This forward positioning allows for a wide range of shock compatibility, reduces standover height, reduces shock tab size, increases water bottle compatibility and increases downtube clearance.

CABLE MANAGEMENT

Internally routed cable hoses with secure closures at entry and exit points prevent rattling and cable abrasion. Whether you’re using a mechanical drivetrain with a dropper or a wireless setup, cable routing is intuitively simple and quiet.

FRAME PROTECTION

The new downtube protection system consists of two working layers. The basis of the system is a rubber underguard that cushions the frame. The outer hard cap provides excellent impact resistance. The new system protects the downtube from edge to edge and is easily replaceable. The hard cap is also removable to facilitate dropper seatpost cable routing.

HANGERLESS INTERFACE

The hangerless interface ensures the strongest and most precise shifting as T-Type derailleurs can be mounted directly to the wheel axle and grip both sides of the frame. Thanks to the included Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH), the hangerless interface is also perfect for older drives.

COMPLETE DROP

As the performance of our bikes continues to increase, so does their ability to use modern full-travel dropper seatposts. Our seat tube is shorter to allow for longer dropper posts. Most riders can use 150mm seatposts on small frames*, 175mm seatposts on medium frames* or 200mm seatposts on L-XXL frames*. *Depending on the actual seat height of the respective bike size.

Threaded bottom bracket

Threaded aluminum bottom bracket shell with integrated ISCG-05 tabs. This important powertrain interface is now more durable, cleaner and easier to maintain.
