The 2025 Infiniti QX80 comes with concept car looks and turbo V6 power

The Infiniti QX80 has been redesigned for the 2025 model year, and the full-size SUV finally gets the looks and features to rival offerings from established luxury brands.

However, buyers have to pay a surcharge. The 2025 QX80 will be available in showrooms this summer with prices starting at $84,445, including a $1,995 destination charge. That has increased significantly the 2024 model Starting price: $76,045.

The new QX80 represents the third iteration of the nameplate. It was previewed with the last year QX monograph concept, a vehicle whose design was faithfully transferred to the production model. Thin daytime running lights with several LEDs, which Infiniti calls digital buttons, sit on the front edge of the hood. Below, the main driving lights are in separate clusters flanking the latest version of Infiniti’s double-arch grille.

The sides are a clear evolution of the previous QX80, with designers even retaining the QX80’s front fender portholes. However, the overall design is brought into the modern era with cleaner finishes and crisper shoulder lines. The rear features taillights that span the full width of the body, and Infiniti has repeated its digital key motif here to add additional character.

The interior marks a much more radical departure from the design of the previous model. In the interior of the QX80, Infiniti has done its best: modern digital screens blend seamlessly into the surroundings, which are made of traditional materials such as leather, suede and wood.

There are two 14.3-inch screens on the dashboard that serve as an instrument cluster and infotainment center. The infotainment system is based on Android and has integrated Google functions. This means popular apps like Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Play Store are all included.

A third 9.0-inch screen is mounted in the center console and provides controls for the climate settings and front seats. The screen has haptic feedback, but buyers tend to prefer real buttons and knobs for frequently used functions. Below this screen are push-button controls for the transmission, and the driver has additional controls on the multifunction steering wheel.

A head-up display is available, and buyers can add camera monitors for both exterior and interior. Infiniti has tried its best to improve external visibility with the surround view monitor with multiple viewing angles. Transparent hood technology and a front view feature that allows a 170-degree view to the front and sides of the vehicle make tight parking maneuvers and difficult off-road trails easier.

The 2025 QX80 offers seating for seven or eight people, and Infiniti says there’s more knee room in each of the three rows. The cargo space has also become larger, although Infiniti has not provided any information. An electric tailgate is installed as standard. For audio fans, Infiniti has added a premium sound system from America’s Klipsch as standard. In standard configuration it is equipped with 14 speakers, but a version with 24 speakers is also available.

Like its predecessors, the 2025 QX80 uses a body-on-frame platform. To improve handling, the engineers installed an independent suspension with double wishbones at the front and rear. Air suspension and adjustable dampers are available. A set of 20-inch wheels is standard, but 22-inch wheels are also available.

A key difference between the new QX80 and the previous model is the inclusion of a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 as standard across the range. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic and produces 450 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That’s a significant increase over the previous QX80’s 5.6-liter V8, which made 400 hp and 413 lb-ft. Towing capacity is 8,500 pounds when appropriately equipped.

Infiniti will offer the 2025 QX80 in Pure, Luxe, Sensory and Autograph trims. The base price for the Pure is $84,445, while the Luxe starts at $91,545. Rear-wheel drive is standard on both, and adding all-wheel drive costs $3,100. Both the Sensory and Autograph come standard with all-wheel drive and cost $102,640 and $112,590, respectively. All information including destination.

Redesigned versions of Nissan’s Armada and Patrol Twins were developed in parallel with the new QX80. As with the current generation, the new Nissan SUVs will likely be closely related to the new QX80, including sharing the platform and powertrain.
