In case there was ever any doubt, Porsche barely cared about the EV revolution – and that the Taycan If this included a one-off compliance measure – then the new Macan EV will destroy them all.

With the Porsche Macan EV, the German luxury car brand now has the opportunity to spread its role model Zero emissions philosophy to the masses. However, the usual suspects are to be expected here, with features like Torque vectoring, adaptive air suspension, PDCC and ceramic brakes all other parts of the (optional or standard) furniture. We know that the rear spoiler is adaptive and the underbody is completely flat and smooth. Notably, Porsche also claims that the Macan electric vehicles will feature one 2,000 kg trailer loadhowever, it was not specified whether a specific towing mode could be selected or how this might affect range.

Design & Interior

One of the key features of the new Macan is its improved aerodynamics – a crucial element in the overall performance and economy of an electric vehicle. Porsche says a more streamlined design has resulted in one 0.25 CD, representing an improvement of over 0.1 Cd over the previous design. All else being equal, this is roughly equivalent 85 km more range about the new body style.

According to Michael Mauer, VP Porsche Style, these are the three key words that breathe life into the design. From a visual perspective, it’s about minimalism meeting functionality. In the Macan EV there is a practical package encapsulated by a sporty silhouette, which, as a complement to the previous model, does not represent a significant change in direction. However, clear design features of Porsche electric vehicles are currently being presented, not least with the The headlight design is clearly taken from the Taycan. If you look closer at the details, you’ll notice that the Turbo models have a more aggressive exterior design, highlighted by larger air intakes at the front and additional air ducts integrated into the rear bumper. However, I’m not sure if this is in any way functional or pure for visual theater.

That’s the company’s philosophy, driving an experience they say performs both on the road and in the digital world.
