High-performance sports cars from almost all well-known premium automobile manufacturers have formed the clear majority of all tuning projects by the Bavarian luxury tuner MANSORY as base vehicles for many years – alongside premium SUVs of the same origin. And if you look at the high-performance sports car segment again in isolation, these are vehicles that come in large numbers from Italy. While in recent years it has predominantly been vehicles from Maranello, for MANSORY’s most recent complete conversion the choice fell on a vehicle from Modena: the MC20 from the traditional sports car manufacturer Maserati.
With the MC20 (=Maserati Corse 20), Maserati is ushering in a new era in its long, over 100-year company history and would like to continue the remarkable growth of recent years in the future while also honoring its motorsport heritage.
“Next to Ferrari, Maserati is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in automotive history.” said Kourosh Mansory, CEO and founder of MANSORY Design and Holding GmbH. “With the MC20, an outstanding basic vehicle has now come onto the market that is tailored to the needs and wishes of our customers and at the same time offers many conversion options, so that our first creation “MANSORY FIRST EDITION” will be followed very soon by further derivatives – based on it MC20 and the spider derived from it”, Kourosh Mansory continues.
As with all MANSORY complete conversions, only the very finest ingredients of automotive refinement are used in the Maserati MC20: a body with lightweight components made of forged carbon, a significant increase in performance, profound chassis modifications, elegant forged sports rims and much more interior conversions made of the finest leather and carbon. At first glance, the “MANSORY FIRST EDITION” strikes the viewer as an uncompromising high-performance sports car that is primarily committed to maximum performance. This is how it should be, and there is no reason to hide this in any way.
Striking, massively enlarged air inlets in the front apron, which always ensure a supply of fresh air to the high-performance radiators, and a new, specially developed front lip give the “MANSORY FIRST EDITION” an impressive appearance and, in conjunction with the additional flaps, improve downforce on the front axle clearly.
On the side, no less striking full carbon wheel arches show MANSORY’s unmistakable signature and expertise in carbon processing. The doors, made from the same material, are partially painted and ensure maximum visual enjoyment in the side view of the vehicle without losing their technical functionality. The area in front of the side cooling air inlets to the engine is also made of full carbon. A new full carbon bonnet supplies the engine from above with maximum cooling fresh air for the powerful V6 biturbo engine.
An impressive, completely new rear wing and a completely newly developed double diffuser with a central brake light increase the downforce on the rear axle and round off the extensive aerodynamic improvements of the “MANSORY FIRST EDITION” to create a visually harmonious overall package. An impressive, powerful-sounding 4-pipe exhaust system rounds off the rear view harmoniously and powerfully.
On the engine side, the engineers at MANSORY have also made a few adjustments, thereby ensuring an increase in performance to the level of the series engine. Ultimately, these extensive modifications mean that the 3.0-liter V6 biturbo mid-engine now delivers 720 hp and 850 Nm to the crankshaft instead of the standard 630 hp and 730 Nm. The main reasons for the increase in performance are the new engine electronics and the in-house high-performance exhaust system. The increased performance data catapults the MC20 into the ranks of super sports cars with a top speed of 330 km/h and a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 2.7 s.
With newly developed and adapted chassis components and new “FV.5” rims, the performance of the “MANSORY FIRST EDITION” is brought safely and confidently to the road at all times. These one-piece, redesigned and ultra-light forged rims in dimensions 9.5 x 21 and 12 x 22 are mounted in combination with high-performance tires in sizes 255/30 R21 (VA) and 335/25 R22 (HA). and at the same time offer maximum performance in terms of lateral dynamics.
The interior of the “MANSORY FIRST EDITION” – just like the exterior colors of all complete conversions – can be freely selected and configured by the customer. In the vehicle shown here, the entire interior was decorated in the three colors yellow, white and black. The national colors of Italy are reflected in the form of a central stripe in the sports seats and in the roof lining. The car itself is also discreetly divided in the middle by a small painted stripe in green, white and red.
Another MANSORY standard: The interior is completely lined with elegant, glove-soft leather and meets the highest standards of workmanship and attention to detail. This attention to detail is evident, among other things, in the white seat belts, which are accentuated with a yellow MANSORY logo. The entire footwell and the associated floor mats are also made of leather and the color coordinates with the rest of the interior.
Wherever leather is not used (or is not intended), the interior is specifically refined with carbon. A MANSORY sports leather steering wheel and several precisely embroidered MANSORY logos elegantly round off the comprehensive refinement in the interior.
